4th General Assembly of MINE.IO – Productive Meetings and Live Demonstrations in Freiberg, Germany
The 4th General Assembly of the MINE.IO project has successfully taken place on January 22-23. This time, our team gathered in Freiberg, Germany, a city renowned for its rich mining history and also known as the Silver City, or Silberstadt, due to its long-standing tradition of silver mining dating back to the 12th century.
The first day of the meeting was filled with insightful presentations, where we discussed the current outcomes of the project and outlined the way forward. Engaging discussions and knowledge-sharing set the foundation for the future development of our initiative.
On the second day, we had the opportunity to witness live demonstrations at two of our pilot sites in Freiberg. Our first visit took us to the Reiche-Zeche mine, where we explored the advancements in the digitalisation of the drill rig, as well as the achieved outcomes and future plans. The second location was the Digital Smelter, where we gained valuable insights into the smelting process, from a lab scale to a large furnace, and the innovative technologies supporting each stage.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our hosts at Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF) for their outstanding organization and warm hospitality.
Glück Auf!
