Łukasiewicz-ITR at ENERGETAB 2025 – shaping the future of mining and energy

On 16–18 September 2025, the city of Bielsko-Biała hosted the 38th edition of ENERGETAB – the International Power Industry Fair, the largest and most important energy trade fair in Poland, bringing together hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors from across Europe and beyond.

Łukasiewicz – Tele and Radio Research Institute (Łukasiewicz-ITR) actively participated in this year’s fair, presenting our technologies and research activities at our booth in Hall G. One of the highlights of our presence was the promotion of a key European project we are involved in – MINE.IO Horizon.

MINE.IO Horizon – Holistic Digital Mine 4.0 Ecosystem is an ambitious project aimed at creating a comprehensive digital ecosystem for mining. It covers the entire value chain – from resource exploration and extraction, through processing and transportation, to waste management and post-mining activities. The project introduces cutting-edge Industry 4.0 solutions into mining operations, including digital twins, cloud-based platforms, predictive analytics, robotics, and process automation.

A crucial focus of MINE.IO is environmental and social responsibility: improving safety and working conditions, reducing environmental impact, and enabling low-impact, sustainable mining practices. The project is carried out by an international consortium, with pilot implementations across Europe – including in Poland, at the KGHM site in Polkowice, where Łukasiewicz-ITR plays a key research and implementation role.

For regions such as Silesia, where mining has always been an integral part of the economy and identity, MINE.IO perfectly aligns with the ongoing energy and digital transformation.

Our participation in ENERGETAB 2025 was an excellent opportunity to present the project to a broad audience of industry professionals, establish new partnerships, and collect valuable feedback for further development.

The 38th ENERGETAB edition clearly demonstrated that innovation, digitalization, and green transformation will shape the future of energy and mining in Poland and Europe – and we are proud that Łukasiewicz-ITR is part of this journey.
