Mine.io Technology Showcased by ACCELIGENCE at the 2nd Automation & Robotics Expo 2026 in Athens
The Mine.io project consortium achieved another significant milestone in industrial outreach and market exploitation. Our strategic technology partner, ACCELIGENCE LTD, actively presented the project’s cutting-edge prototype drone solutions at the 2nd Automation & Robotics Expo 2026 (A&R Expo ’26), held from 25th to 27th April 2026 at the Athens Metropolitan Expo in Greece.
As one of the most prominent technological and industrial events in the Balkan region, the Automation & Robotics Expo 2026 served as a high visibility platform. Over three intensive days, the exhibition acted as a massive hub for technological exchange, drawing an expansive multidisciplinary crowd that directly satisfies several of our key project communication benchmarks:
- Industrial and Commercial Decision Makers: The event hosted over 150 elite international exhibitors, businesses, and manufacturing technology providers, offering an unmissable B2B environment to engage heavy industry supply chain managers.
- Target Technical End-Users: Thousands of robotics developers, engineers, international investors, and automated operations managers from various productive sectors monitored the technical pavilions.
- Broad Public and Academic Audience: The convention garnered immense public attention, highlighted by a global exhibition featuring world renowned artificial intelligence platforms like Hanson Robotics’ humanoid robot “Sophia”, bridging the gap between specialized research and public awareness.
Stand C15: Hardware and Smart Computing in Action
Positioned strategically at Stand C15 in Hall 1, the engineering team from ACCELIGENCE LTD hosted continuous interactive dissemination sessions. The dedicated booth featured the official Mine.io project roll-up banner and dissemination leaflets, introducing the project’s broad Holistic Digital Mine 4.0 Ecosystem to the steady stream of corporate visitors.
The absolute highlight of the exhibition was the physical showcase of the custom engineered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) platforms developed by ACCELIGENCE LTD, including their advanced flagship multi sensor fleet featuring models such as CERBERUS, CERBERUS II, PULSAR, VAMPIR, and F1T. The displayed aerial hardware featured live action documentation of UAV flight tests and drone deployment maneuvers directly on the showroom floor.
The Potential of ACCELIGENCE LTD’s Drones within the Mine.io Framework
The advanced multi sensor platforms being developed by ACCELIGENCE LTD represent an innovative tool designed to support future environmental management and advanced risk assessment within the Mine.io framework. In modern sustainable mining operations, these autonomous aerial assets are being developed for non invasive terrain mapping and structural evaluation of complex mining sites and waste repositories.
Crucially, the official project pilot site in Lavrion, Greece, served as a primary testing and validation environment for evaluating these technological drone applications in real world scenarios. To see this advanced research framework in motion, you can watch our official field coverage on Mine.io Drone Testing and Geospatial Technology in Lavrion on YouTube.
The integration of sensors verified during these field trials powers the core pillars of our project scope:
- Capabilities for Environmental Monitoring and Repository Surveillance: The drone fleets under development, equipped with magnetometers and specialized mapping sensors, can potentially serve to assess the structural stability of mining and metallurgical waste landfills. Low altitude autonomous sweeps successfully tested within the pilot scope at Lavrion are designed to assist future operators in identifying ground deformation, structural integrity issues, and potential environmental pathways or leaks before they escalate. Review how this data integrates with our smart processing systems in our Environmental Management and Advanced Risk Assessment Session Summary.
- Potential for Exploring Secondary Resources and Recycling: Rather than traditional greenfield exploration, this aerial technology can be applied in the future to evaluate the spatial distribution and concentration of materials buried within historical waste streams. Accurate magnetic mapping helps localize zones with higher concentrations of specific mineral compounds. This insight aims to support future circular economy frameworks, opening paths for the potential re selection and recovery of valuable resources from old mining waste without the need for invasive new excavation works. Learn more about this technology in our feature track on the Application of Magnetometer-Equipped Drones for Mineral Exploration.
By hosting live hardware demonstrations, engaging directly with commercial system integrators, and distributing targeted project literature to a massive regional technology network, ACCELIGENCE LTD has successfully expanded Mine.io’s replication potential within European industrial ecosystems.
